The Stories continue as Brian Bulkley remembers Eddie...

Below is an amazing story Brian shares with us after viewing Bobby Owen's clip about Eddie on the blog.

This Bobby Owens comment touches me in that Eddie influenced me to catch the biggest wave of my life at Waimea Bay. I had no business being out there on an 8'8" on a day that 20ft plus waves, told to me, not my estimation, were coming through. My interest was to catch one maybe, and just get out of the way really. Leave it to the dedicated chargers of the day. Then a bigger set came looming on the horizon and I proceded to paddle for my life to get outside, no interest in catching it. Only one or two further out than me. I just remember Eddie. He turns around to get it, I'm inside of him paddling to get over the monster, then he realizes he might not get it and yells at me to go at the top of his lungs. Crap, you don't say no to Eddie. I turned and went, made the last second drop with one or two strokes and made it to the bottom, every cell in my body on alert. That is all I remember, after waiting to get swatted like a fly. Was told Booby jones and Ken Bradshaw took off in front of me, so must have been a pretty good wave. Love to see a photo of that one. Clear lightning bolt, little short compared to most boards out there with those two guys in front. Anyway , thanks, BBThis Bobby Owens comment touches me in that Eddie influenced me to catch the biggest wave of my life at Waimea Bay.
